Surface Pro 4 vs. Samsung Galaxy View Tahoe – Future Rumored Tablets Comparison



We’re at the beginning of September, but the rumors about the upcoming Surface Pro 4 intensify, as new leaks surface the internet. The latest report comes from the Taiwanese tech news site Digitimes, which contains more details about Microsoft’s next premium tablet. Samsung has officially announced the two variants of the Tab S2, and will come with other tablets. One of them will be the giant Galaxy View, which is codenamed Tahoe.

The Surface Pro 4 will be available in two screen options: 12-inch and 13-inch or 14-inch, which will support 2160 x 1440 pixels resolution. The tablet which can be converted into a laptop by adding a type cover, will have a thinner and lighter body, which will be made by the same magnesium alloy.

The majority of rumors are claiming that, inside, it will have Intel’s latest Skylake chip, which will support up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage, coming also with 256 GB SSDs ordered from Samsung. It will sport an 8MP primary camera and a 3.5MP front camera and will bring several USB Type-C ports.

The Skylake chipset has been released in August and according to the reports, it runs faster than the Haswell chips which were used inside the Surface Pro 3. The new technology will improve the battery life and won’t heat up during prolonged use.

The Surface Pro 4 will run on Microsoft’s latest Windows 10 OS, which brought the Edge web-browser and Cortana – the intelligent personal assistant, which is integrated into Edge, to facilitate web searches. Also, the tablet will come with a better pen support.

Samsung Galaxy View “Tahoe”

The South Korean company announced the Galaxy View during the last press day of IFA 2015. The tablet, which is codenamed Tahoe and has the build number SM-T670, will run on Android 5.1 and will have a massive 18.4-inch TFT LCD display which will support Full HD resolution It will be powered by a 64bit octa core Exynos 7580 processor running at 1.6GHz, which will be backed by 2GB of RAM and will house 32GB of internal storage, but there will be a microSD card slot available for expansion up to 128GB. The Galaxy View will have a battery with a capacity of 5,700 mAh, an 8MP camera on the back and a secondary camera supporting 2.1MP. Its physical dimensions will be 451.8×275.8×11.9 mm.
