MacBook Air 2016 Will Be Thinner Than Its Predecessor

Earlier this year, Apple has released a Macbook Air with a 12-inch Retina display and it was powered by a fanless Intel processor which doesn’t consume too much energy. Apparently, a new version will be released next year, and the rumors suggest that the updated MacBook Air will make its appearance at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2016. Apple has taken this decision, to delay its launch, because they wanted to make sure that the iPad Pro will be successful.

The MacBook Air 2015 is powered by a 1.3GHz Intel Core M processor which is backed by 8 GB/16 GB 1600 MHz LPDDR3 and Intel HD Graphics 5300, and supports up to 512 GB PCIe-based flash storage. Its 12-inch Retina screen offers a resolution of 2304 x 1440 with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and 226 ppi. Its physical dimensions are 280 x 196.6 x 36 to 13.2 mm, it weights 0.92Kg and likewise the other new Apple devices, it’s available in colors such as space gray, silver and gold, and its exterior is made of aluminum. It features stereo speakers and dual microphones, USB 3.1 Type-C, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, a Force Touch multi-touch trackpad and a 480p iSight camera, while the pricing starts at $1299.

The MacBook Air w016 should have been released in November, but Apple has delayed its launch until the spring of 2016. The laptop will be available in two variants of screen sizes: 13-inch and 15-inch, it will be slimmer and it could feature an Intel Skylake processor, which doesn’t require too much space and it doesn’t have a cooling fan. The graphics will be improved, the RAM capacity will be upgraded and the battery will be replaced with a new model, which will benefit from a new cooling module.

Moreover, the MacBook Air 2016 will come with a USB Type-C support and will have a Retina display, and a Force Touch trackpad, while it will run on OS X El Capitan and will allow the users to make online Apple Pay payments using the biometric scan feature.
